A type of vegetable of which the edible part is the spear. It comes in both green (more common in US) and white varieties.
Expressed from rape seeds, canola oil is low in saturated fat. It is bland-tasting and suitable for both cooking and salad dressing.
Paper-thin sheets of dried seaweed, used to wrap sushi and rice balls, to garnish noodle soups, etc.. It ranges in color from dark green to black, and has a taste that is both sweet and savory.
A dish made with chopped up beef (usually corned beef or roast beef), diced potatoes, and seasonings, mashed together then cooked (usually in a skillet). Chopped vegetables such as onion or green pepper can also be added.
